Contributor Guidelines

Here are a few guidelines and suggestions to help Country Tough Times and you as a contributor be positively showcased. 

1. Make sure the article is informational and not a form of advertisement for you. People are reading articles to gain insight about a topic that you have been selected to write about.
2. It’s best to submit articles as Word documents. Please do not submit them as PDFs, text messages, email bodies (instead of attachments), Facebook Messenger, etc. 
3. Article length can range from 500-1000 words (roughly) unless you have a two-part article. 
4. Title your article, or at least give me suggestions for the title. 
5. Proofread your article at least once before you submit it. It should be grammatically correct and free from major typos. 
6. Submit a picture of you to be used in our “meet the contributors” posts on social media and the contributors section of the website.  
7. Submit 2-4 pictures supporting the content of your article. (please include photo credit/photographer).
8. Submit a 100-500 word introduction/biography for our “meet the contributor” segment. 
9. Please check your email for the contributor contract that will provide us with your contact information and where people can find you: website, social media handles, email, phone number, and address. 
10. Send us a logo if you have one. 
11. Every article takes over two hours to format for the magazine. Please respect the deadline. You will receive bonus points if you turn it in early.
12. I will reply via email when I receive your email. If I have received your article, it doesn't mean I've read it yet. 

Contributor Due Dates:  

October 20th - 5th Edition 

November 10th - 6th Edition
